REFLECTION

The Information and Communication Technology in Science (SSI3013) is a subject that discuss about the rational and advantage in integrating ICT application in Science. Topics that had been covered in this subject are data logger, interactive whiteboard, ICT application, simulation, and modeling. Dr. Azmi also taught us how to use paint and movie maker application in teaching and learning process. I have learn a lot of knowledge and skills regarding the ICT. 

          From my point of view, this subject taught me a lot of new things about the teaching. Teaching is not necessary to follow the old method or traditional method which they use chalk and talk method in their teaching. We have to make our own method such as using the ICT in Science especially in experiment and explanation. We can use data logger, simulation and modeling in our teaching because these application allow us to design and build our own experiment using a computer. These application making our work become more easier because its automatically calculate and show the results from the experiment without needs to measure and jot all the things on the papers. At a first glance, I admit that data logger, simulation and modeling are hard and complicated to be used. After that, I have explore the application and figure out that these application are beneficial to us especially in experiment. From my last experience at primary and secondary school, I remember that some teachers does not let us doing the experiment to avoid any broken apparatus. So, using these methods we can make a changes in teaching methods. Explanation using ICT, LCD, power point slides and so on could enhance student's imagination and critical thinking. With using the 3D animations,videos and pictures, the students will become more interesting in learning and these method could change the passive classroom into the active learning classroom.

          The end of the semester,  I would like to give a lot of thank to Dr. Azmi Ibrahim as our lectcurer mainly for his patience in teaching us. Although we always been late during his class, he always forgive us and keep guiding us in this subject. Moreover, he always gave us advice and motivation in our study and how to be more competitive in university.
